Mummies Afternoon Tea
On Friday 16th May we held a Mummies Afternoon Tea, where we all female carers were invited along to take part in some activities with the children before having a delicious tea.
Our nursery cook made a fantastic selection of homemade goodies - including sandwiches, cakes, cheese straws and scones and because we were very lucky that we picked one of the sunniest days so far to hold our tea, we all sat outside in the sunshine.
We held a raffle where prizes included a Spa Day at Slayley Hall and also held a cake sale which was kindly donated to by both parents and staff.
All together we raised a total of £143.31 which we are donating to the Oncology Day Unit at North Tyneside Hospital. All donations are put to good use within the Day Unit to improve the care and comfort for future patients attending for often long and difficult treatments. It is only through generous donations that they are able to offer TOP2TOE, their volunteer led complementary therapies and hair loss advice service, together with our goodie bags which patients receive at the beginning of their treatments.
If you are interested in fundraising for the unit please contact Debbie Fearne, Senior Sister on the Unit on 0191 2932751.
