Introduction Still Small Enough to be Personal We offer a large amount of space to play and learn for each individual child, we have deliberately chosen to keep our nurseries below a certain number of children. For example our Monkseaton nursery has the floor space to take over 100 children but we choose to take a maximum of 76. At our Southridge Wraparound Nursery and our Playgroup we take just a maximum of 24. Our children benefit from more space per child than other nurseries. Our floor space per child is well above the national minimum standards set by Ofsted. Although less profitable we do this as quality of childcare has always been our primary objective. We can maintain a higher standard of care, with more room for additional equipment and separate activity areas such as soft play, sensory room, quiet room etc. This approach also allows us to maintain a more personal informal approach to nursery care. With low level divides all our staff across the 3 age groups feel very much part of the nursery as a whole! We believe this helps create a sense of teamwork and general good will. Our nurseries are specially designed based on best practice in childcare. Each nursery/playgroup is on one level and open plan with low-level partitions maximising child safety and child protection issues. There is an abundance of toys and equipment in our nurseries, dedicated to each different age group. |
